Hi there! Thanks for visiting my lil’ about page. My name is Lindsey, and I’m a TV writer with a passion for all things animated. Animation is the medium that has had the most impact on my life, and I’ve always known that I wanted to be a part of making such magic. I love to work on series that make kids’ worlds feel a little less scary and overwhelming. Because let’s face it, growing up is hard! Being an adult is way better! Since childhood is so tough for so many of us, I strive to write stories that will leave kids feeling comforted, understood, and like they got to spend time with their best friends.

I graduated from Brown University in 2017 with a degree in Literary Arts (their fancy way of saying Creative Writing). After graduation, I moved to NYC with the hope of breaking into the kids’ TV world. After a couple years of hardcore networking, I landed my first job in the industry as the Script Coordinator on Season 5 of Nick Jr.’s Bubble Guppies. When Bubble Guppies got a Season 6, I was promoted to Jr. Staff Writer and got to write my first episodes of TV. After I wrapped on Bubble Guppies, I spent some time in a galaxy far, far away and wrote a season of 12 digital shorts for Disney and Lucasfilm, which came together into the series Star Wars: Galactic Pals. I’ve also had the pleasure of writing for Nick Jr.’s Face’s Music Party, Moonbug’s Blippi Wonders, and an as yet unannounced animated series for Apple TV+.

“This is great, this is really cool.”

In January of 2024, I submitted a pitch to The Aspen Institute’s Planet Media, an initiative to fund kids’ content that centers solutions and hope around climate change. I just so happened to have an animated series concept that was a perfect match! Solar Punks is about a team of friends from a utopian future who travel back in time to give climate solutions to present-day kids. In March of 2024, Solar Punks was selected as a finalist. The Aspen Institute flew me to Miami to pitch my concept in front of a panel of incredible judges, including Bill Nye, the Science Guy himself! After my pitch, I was named one of three awardees, and received $20K to produce an animated pilot. Solar Punks will be premiering in April of 2025 at The Aspen Institute’s next climate change conference. You can see more about Solar Punks and my inspiration for the project here!

As a bi girl who always felt a little alienated from my peers growing up, it’s important to me that every kid feels represented onscreen. I strive to include characters of all genders, sexualities, races, sizes, and abilities in my work. It’s my mission to make sure that every kid has a hero to dress up as for Halloween that looks like them and acts like them. And that means a cool, inspiring, main character! Not an afterthought side character added for on-paper diversity. Some other themes that often show up in my work are stewardship for the planet, and the magic of reading and books!

When I’m not making or watching cartoons, you can find me flowing at the yoga studio, mixing up vegan baked goods, or wandering the stacks at the library, trying to find the weirdest in new lit fic. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY with my cat Tuba!
